aespa’s Live Vocals at Coachella 2022 Receive Mixed Opinions

Within the first few seconds on stage, aespa raised excitement from the crowd with their professional performances and stage presence. Before their performance, many internet users believed aespa could not sing live. However, the girls sang 100% live in Coachella.

The group’s live vocals have been heavily debated following the performance. Many think that the girls cannot hit the high notes of their songs and are over-singing to compensate. Others believed their voice was not smooth and would often crack.

On the other hand, people think that since the girls had to sing live, they had no choice but to perform their dances less powerfully. People believed their dancing did not have as much energy because they were focused on singing.

Comments over aespa’s live vocals during Coachella 2022 read:

“I just went to look for a video, and it seems they cannot sing properly if there is a strong choreography. They also can not sing live continuously for about five songs.”

“They weren’t bad, but their live vocals show why they lip-sync a lot.”

“Normally, their dancing lacks energy, but since they were focused on singing live today, the dance part was even worse than usual.”

“Yeah, they sang live, but they did not sound smooth at all. They sounded the worse during ‘Black Mamba.'”

“The first girl group on the main stage to flop.”

“After listening to their performance, I know for sure they cannot sing their high notes. They seemed so bland.”
