BTS V’s China fan club set a new record by raising more than 500 million won in less than a minute!
On May 8, BTS V’s fan club in China, Baidu Vbar, began fundraising in preparation for V’s birthday on December 30.
According to Baidu Vbar, the fan club raised more than 3.08 million Chinese yuan (more than $ 478,000 or 532 million won) in less than a minute – breaking previous records of they are ten minutes.
In 5 minutes, they earned more than 4 million Chinese Yuan (equivalent to 691.3 USD or 691 million won). At the time of the 35-minute fundraising, they had collected more than 5 million Chinese yuan ($ 777.3 million or 867 million won).
At the one-hour mark, Baidu Vbar earned more than 5.42 million Chinese yuan ($ 842,500 or 944 million won).
As of now, the amount raised is 6.2 million Chinese yuan ($ 965,000 or 1.07 billion won), according to their share.
BTS V is currently one of the most popular K-Pop idols in China, with one of the fastest and highest fundraising records among all other idols thanks to Baidu Vbar.
In 2020, Baidu Vbar grossed 6.9 million Chinese yuan ($ 1.07 million or 1.2 billion won).
Baidu Vbar raised a total of 6.2 million Chinese yuan ($ 964,000 or 1.07 billion won) in less than 24 hours after the live fundraising took place – noted The highest birthday fundraising amount for a K-Pop idol in 2021 to date.
According to Baidu Vbar, more than 10,000 people participated in the fundraising 11 minutes after it started. As of 24 hours, the birthday fundraiser had a total of 21,620 people, showing V’s popularity in China.
Baidu Vbar is one of the top fan clubs promoting V’s worldwide influence. In 2020, they held V’s birthday ad in the tallest building globally, Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

In particular, this fan club organized various projects such as building “Taehyung Hope Elementary School” (named after V) and building the road (Kim Tae Hyung-ro) and the bridge, Tae Hyung Bridge, with the hope of improving the school environment for elementary students.
Meanwhile, BTS will be making a comeback on May 21 at 1 p.m. (KST), with a second all-English song, “Butter,” after their hit song, “Dynamite,” was released in August 2020.
